ADI - Austempered Ductile Iron

(heat-treated cast iron with nodular graphite, also austempered cast iron (DIN-EN 1564/ – formerly bainitic cast iron)

Through the variation of the heat treatment parameters, tensile strength values can be achieved for the application case ranging from
800 N/mm2 at 10 % elongation to
1600 N/mm2 with 1 % elongation.

Better damping properties are achieved compared to cast steel.
